Has anyone ever experienced something paranormal? Describe the event or experience.?
Q. Paranormal is an umbrella term used to describe a wide variety of purported anomalous phenomena. According to the Journal of Parapsychology (Parapsychology Association), the term paranormal describes "any phenomenon that in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions." The term is derived from the Latin use of the prefix "para", meaning "against, counter, outside or beyond the norm." Many see the term paranormal as synonymous with parapsychology, which deals with psychical phenomena like telepathy, ESP, and survival studies like ghosts. However, the paranormal also includes subjects considered to be outside of the scope of parapsychology, including UFOs,… [cont.]

A. I am a normal intelligent 58 year old man who has travelled a bit and have seen and experienced many amazing things. Only once in my life did I witness an event which to this day is unexplainable. In 1973, while fishing 25 miles off the florida coast with four of my friends, we all saw an event which both amazed and frightened us all, and these guys didn't scare easy. The sky was clear and cloudless and there was about a two foot chop all day. About three p.m. a bank of absolutely black clouds came from the ocean horizon, the entire ocean went flat as glass, and a small patch of thick fog appeared about 300 yards east of our boat. This all happened within one minute. The sky was black, but there appeared a very visible object inside the fog. [cont.]

Does atheism necessarily imply materialism?
Q. It's really a rhetorical question, but I'm interested in your responses. Take ID, for example. ID doesn't imply the God of traditional theism; ID could well be accounted for by the kind of systems theory proposed here: Note that this kind of integration of systems, complexity, and quantum theory is a *naturalistic* explanation of anomalous phenomena appearing across disciplines, including quantum physics, cosmology, biology, and consciousness studies. When you resort to a priori dismissal of anomalous phenomena for the sake of adherence to your paradigm, you impede the work of genuine science. Reality may not be what you think it is (in fact, if the history of science is any indicator, it certainly isn't), but that doesn't mean that… [cont.]

A. Indeed, very interesting... I have started to read philosophical books such as Plato's Socrates, Apology and the Crito. I am now reading Soren Kierkegaard's the Sickness unto Death which is noted as "one of the key works of theistic existentialist thought". So far, the reading is fascinating and definitely raises many questions. We may never know if reality is what we know it to be, in its traditional sense, or if traditional religion is correct. This is true. Though, it's much fun to debate, don't you think???

Q. Is carbon-14 dating accurate? (read the whole article or dont answer)?

A. Yes it is really accurate. However, who cares??? This is absurd because Carbon-14 dating is not used to prove ANY of the claims your article says C-14 dating is used for. It is not used to date the Earth's origin, as it can only be used for the past 60,000 years. It is not used by evolutionists to prove evolution. It is not used for any of this. Your article actually says that C14 dating can be used to date things that are millions of years old- yet no scientific claims have ever been made dating anything with C-14 for more than 60,000 years. This is a bald-faced lie. It simply can't be done. Your article is complete bull and any true Christian would be ashamed of spreading such untruth. You are doing nothing more than tilting at… [cont.]
