Q. the question says is all... Can you give me examples of natural phenomena and their supernatural explanations?

A. The one that keeps my students on the edge of their seats ties together ancient mythology and folklore, unexplained and extraordinary encounters, and unsettling personal experiences; then demonstrates how these seemingly unrelated phenomenon can all be beautifully and logically explained by a slight phase shift in the natural physiological correlates of sleep/wake phenomenon. I'm referring, of course, to the natural phenomena of hypnagogic and hypnopompic imagery as a twilight zone area of consciousness.

What is the word for the phenomena of becoming hyper-sensitive to things that you are looking for?
Q. I remember reading the name for this in my Psychology studies but have forgotten. It is like if you are looking to buy a certain car, suddenly you see them on the street and in parking lots everywhere. Or if you are looking for someone in a blue shirt, you become super-sensitive to seeing blue shirts. The answer that I am seeking is the "latin" word for this condition, (i.e. like hydrophobia is the fear of water). I know it is out there because I have seen it, just been a while and I forgot what it is.
